Tari's Tavern

Even on your first visit, you feel at home as soon as you walk into Tari's tavern. It is filled with family photos and heirlooms and Tari's collection of stringed instruments -- at the ready in case she has time to sit in on a jam night. "I didn't have any money to decorate when I opened," says Tari, "so I just started hanging stuff from my house on the walls. Before I knew it the walls were covered all the way up to the high tin ceilings." Tari laughs when she considers how chain-style pubs started hanging similar items on their walls. "I felt like a real decorator," she says, "except that my things are real. The bar is still my favorite room. I play good background music and run a tight ship. It's the kind of bar you could bring your Granny to for a nip."
